INTRODUCTION
The prompting to establish the HANDS THAT HELP MINISTRIES, INC. organization came after a man of God, Kermit E. Beaver Jr. was blessed with $10,000.00 to build the PRAYER HOUSE. After completing the Prayer House, which offers lodging at no cost to traveling PASTORS, a greater plan has been put in motion.
And we were prompted7 to apply for a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE, NON-PROFIT,
501 (c) (3).
The constant TV commercials about youth and teens who found themselves lost and pleading for A PURPOSE IN LIFE , touched our hearts, which led us to begin
PROJECT "HOPE IS HERE".
HANDS THAT HELP MINISTRIES is for CHANGING LIVES.
-~for young men from all over the world to have an opportunity to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.
-~students are taught basic Christian PRINCIPLES and MORALS and the courage to live by them.
-~students are continually exposed to Godly men
-~speakers and conferences, etc.
-~training of young men with a missionary's heart to preach the GOOD NEWS.
PROJECT “HOPE IS HERE” is a building project
that will provide adequate, NO-COST living facilities and Bible classes.
-Paid BIBLE CLASSES are targeted to help those who cannot afford normal college fees.

-STUDENT PROGRESS reports made available

KEY PERSONNEL
I, Maria Lucia Cook Beaver, was a college student at UNM in a 4-year nursing program from 1971-1973. I dropped out of college to serve in an orphanage in South-Central Mexico. I married Dr. John C. Cook, a physiologist and professor at U of A in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our honeymoon was our trip down to Mexico to take over the orphanage. We gave up our careers and jobs, sold everything we had including house and vehicles, paid off all of our debts, disconnecting ourselves from our lives in the States. We had no furloughs in the 35 years we served, except for bringing the children across the border in a DINA bus for two or three weeks for vacation every year and to meet our sponsors in hopes of raising funds for the orphanage.
With my late husband's passing in 2009, I have since remarried and my vision is to continue to serve as I served in Mexico, helping little ones who would not otherwise have the opportunity to finish school; to bring them up in a healthy environment, both physical and spiritual.
Currently, my husband and I are supervising the 'Prayer House' in Fraziers Bottom, West Virginia which provides lodging for Pastors or Evangelists passing through town.
We, since then, have been called to expand this small ministry and build an addition to the 'Prayer House' to provide living quarters for orphans who will be given an opportunity to further their studies. Young adults will also prepare themselves as they will be provided with extended Bible studies
Kermit E. Beaver Jr. has written a soul-winning book entitled “Life’s Changes” which has proven to be ordained by God and has touched many lives for the better. Kermit actually drives a semi-truck, delivering chemicals to every state, taking his soul-winning book along with him as he evangelizes at truck stops and anywhere else God places someone in his path for a chance to talk about Jesus. He has also been called to supervise Project “Hope Is Here”.
Johnny & Bonney Greeley have been involved with the initial building of Project “Hope Is Here”. Bonney’s expertise in photography proved to be God-ordained, especially for the pictures she has taken for the front and back covers of the soul-winning book, Life’s Changes. This couple has been involved as the “advisory board” in every situation and decision which has been greatly valued and will continue to be greatly valued as Project “Hopo Is Here” progresses and becomes an instrument for men and women to be trained up and sent out as evangelists.
Nora Helm the Secretary of the board and is a retired business woman with a sublime desire to make Project “Hope Is Here” and excellent success. She has been involved with other programs having to do with missionary work in Mexico and here in the U.S. She sees the passion, love and dedication that is needed for the children and is in agreement that the children’s cause is most important. .
